Why are you making these enhancements?
We are upgrading our core banking and internet banking systems to ensure that we provide the most innovative solutions and a richer online experience.
When will the changes take place?
We'll be working on the upgrade starting Friday night, September 18, 2015 and continuing over the weekend of September 19th and 20th. You'll notice these new enhancements on Monday, September 21, 2015.
What is going to be different about American Business Bank's new Online Banking system, ABBconnect?
There are many exciting changes with this upgrade. To name a few, ABBconnect will feature a new look and feel and will be easier to use. Bill pay upgrades will include faster payments and the ability to receive eBills. You'll be able to set up a wide variety of email alerts that will keep you informed and help you better manage your finances, as well as send and receive external transfers to and from accounts at other financial institutions. For our business customers, ABBconnect will provide a customizable dashboard, detailed information and activity reports, plus Positive Pay and Account Reconciliation.
Will I be able to view and download my bank account transaction history and bank statements on the new system?
Yes. We will be converting 6 months of deposit transaction history that will be available in ABBconnect. Additionally, we will be converting 18 months of bank account statements and check images. Please contact our Customer Service team at (213) 430-4000 should you need copies of transactions, checks , or statements that are older than what is provided on the online banking system, and they will be happy to assist you.
How does this system upgrade affect my ability to download my account data using Quicken and Quickbooks?
To continue using Quicken and Quickbooks, you will need to modify your settings to ensure a smooth transition of your data. Refer to the chart below to locate the documents which provide the details you will need to complete this process.
Please note that Quicken and Quickbooks “Web Connect” users should complete the steps on or after September 21, 2015. Services may be interrupted for up to 3-5 business days after September 21, 2015 for users of Quicken “Express Web Connect”, Quickbooks “Online” and Mint, therefore we recommend completing the steps for those programs on or after September 28, 2015.

Will my account number(s) stay the same?
Yes. You will have the same bank account number(s) you have currently.
Will my current direct deposits and automatic drafts be affected?
No, since your bank account number(s) stay the same, all current direct deposits and automatic drafts will continue to be processed.
Will I need to notify any automatic transfer or automatic payment merchants/vendors?
No. Your debit card number is also staying the same, so if you are using your debit card to automatically debit your account, you will not need to take any action.
May I continue to use my existing debit and/or ATM cards after the system upgrade?
Yes, your existing debit and ATM cards will work and do not need to be replaced for this system upgrade. You do not need to take any action.
Will I be able to use my debit card over the upgrade weekend?
Yes, your current Debit Card will be available for use over the upgrade weekend without interruption.
May I continue to use my current American Business Bank checks?
Yes. Since your bank account number is not changing, you may continue to use your American Business Bank checks.
When can I expect to receive my deposit account statement(s)?
Your statement cycle will not change as a result of this systems upgrade. However, for the month of September 2015, when your accounts are converted to the new system, we will send you a special interim statement that covers account transactions from your last monthly bank statement through September 18, 2015. Interest will also be reflected and paid, if applicable, from the last monthly statement through Sunday, September 20, 2015. Beginning October 2015, you will receive regular monthly statements per your existing statement cycle.
How does the systems upgrade affect online banking?
Starting Friday, September 18th at 7:00 p.m. through Monday, September 21st at 6:00 a.m. online access will be limited to "view only." This means you will be able to see your account information but will not be able to transfer funds or pay bills during this time. Will I still need to use my Token to log in to the new system?
No. ABBconnect will no longer utilize tokens for log in access. Tokens have been replaced with a more convenient and secure method of authentication called "Out of Band Authentication."
What is "Out of Band Authentication?"
The new ABBconnect online banking system offers enhanced security with the use of Out-of-Band Authentication which is designed to reduce the risk of fraud by confirming your identity before granting access to the online banking system. You verify your identity through the use of a one-time security code. Because you are asked to confirm your identity outside of the online banking session either by automated voice call or a text message ("out of band"), there is less of a chance it can be compromised by malware that may exist on your device.
ABBconnect for Business provides an additional layer of security by requiring Out-of-Band Authentication prior to processing high risk transactions such as ACH files and wire transfers. You will receive a phone call or text to authenticate the transaction before it completes. If the rightful owner is not involved in the transaction, he or she cannot complete the phone-based authentication and the fraudulent transaction will be cancelled.

How does the system upgrade affect scheduling bill payments?
Access to business bill payment will be temporarily unavailable from approximately 2:30 p.m. on September 18th until 6:00 a.m. on September 21st. Personal bill payment will be temporarily unavailable from approximately 10:00 a.m. on September 18th until 6:00 a.m. on September 21st. Can I use my mobile phone or tablet with ABBconnect?
Yes. You may access ABBconnect using a mobile phone or tablet using your browser. We will be introducing a NEW Mobile Banking app in December of 2015.
What else do I need to know?
You will be receiving a letter from us detailing any information you may need to know in advance of our core system and online banking systems upgrade, or for complete details please refer to the Business and Personal & Small Business Migration Guides located on this site.
I'm not currently a user. How do I enroll?
Enrolling is simple! On September 21, 2015, from our home page under "Personal & Small Business," click "Sign up here" and follow the instructions. If you select ATM or Debit Card, Checking, Savings or Money Market Account, or Loan Account, you will receive instant access online.
What are the User ID and Password requirements for ABBconnect|Personal & Small Business?
User ID Requirements:
- Minimum length of 8 characters (maximum length of 32 characters). Your User ID must contain at least 1 alpha and 1 numeric character.
- Your User ID is Case sensitive. The input of "special" characters is limited.
- Your User ID and password cannot be the same.

What is an External Transfer?
External Transfers are a fast, easy, and safe way to move funds between accounts you may hold at different financial institutions. At any time, from any computer, you can transfer funds to or from one of your accounts.
How does External Transfer work?
First, you tell us about the other account. We will then verify the external transfer account information with the other financial institution. Once this process is complete, you are ready to make one-time or recurring external transfers when needed. What is People Pay?
People Pay is a free, fast, safe way to send money online. You can now conveniently pay anyone using ABBconnect instead of using cash or checks. All you need is an email address or a mobile phone to send money. Once a payment is sent, an email or text alert is sent to the recipient informing them that a payment has been made; included are instructions on how to claim the money. How do I log in to ABBconnect?
You will log into the new ABBconnect using the instructions and new Company ID we will be sending you via US mail the first week of September 2015. For assistance, see our "First Time Login Guide" on this page. What are the User ID and Password requirements for ABBconnect|Business?
User ID Requirements:
- Should be at least eight characters in length but no more than 26.
- Should include a combination of two of the following types of characters:
- Letters: A through Z, upper and /or lower case. User IDs are not case sensitive
- Numbers: 0 through 9
- Cannot be the same ID assigned to another user in the same company.
- Spaces and special characters are not supported.
- Minimum length of 8 characters and a maximum of 12 characters.
- It must include a combination of two of the following characters:
- Letters – A through Z, upper and/or lower-case. Passwords are not case sensitive.
- Numbers – 0 through 9
- Special Characters – pound (#), dollar ($), or at (@)
- Cannot include more than three consecutive identical characters.
- For example, t@llllama is not allowed but t@lllama is.
- Password cannot be the same as the associated user ID.
- Password cannot be one of the 15 previously used passwords.
- Passwords expire every 90 days.
Do you have a Demo of the new ABBconnect|Business that I can see?
Yes! Starting September 7th and continuing through September 18th, you may preview the new ABBconnect. Even better, during this preview period you will be able to complete the initial sign in and authentication process, get your password reset, set up additional users and re-establish transfers and templates. Please note that while you won't be able to make live transactions on the new site during this period, you can familiarize yourself with the new functionality before it goes live on September 21, 2015. I use online banking for ACH and Wires. Do I need to do anything?
You will want to print out your current ACH activity and wire transactions so you can easily re-establish them on the new ABBconnect. Your existing ACH and Wire templates will be converted to the new system, and no further action will be required on your part. Please refer to the "Business Online Banking Migration Guide" for full details on what you need to know and do in preparation for the system upgrade.
I use Remote Deposit to make my deposits. What do I need to know?
We're in the process of personally contacting all of our Remote Deposit customers to make appointments to set up your new system and provide training so you can start depositing right away. We will help you download new drivers that will be required before you can use the new system. Please note that you will not need to replace your existing scanner.
